“How can you use the Bible as evidence of God? Isn’t it the same as Hindus’ using the Vedas as evidence of Krishna?”
You do not need the scriptures (the Bible) to evidence God. Everyone is born with two candles of light that prove to them that there is a God.
If that is true, and it is, then why is there people who do not believe that God exist? Well, there is a simple answer to that question. They blow out the two candles.
First what are these two candles?
1. Creation
2. Conscience
First creation: Everyone can know that God exist by simply observing creation. The earth is suspended hanging upon nothing, just the right distance from the sun, spinning at the right speed, tilted at the right angle, is a sphere yet no one falls off.
Psalm 19:1-4
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.
Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.
Then why don't people believe in God due to creation? Oh, that's simple to explain.
Romans 1:18-32
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, WHO SUPPRESS THE TRUTH IN UNRIGHTEOUSNESS, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, FOR GOD HAS SHOWN IT TO THEM (how did God do that?). FOR SINCE THE CREATION OF THE WORLD (the heavens and the earth) HIS INVISIBLE ATTRIBUTES ARE CLEARLY SEEN, BEING UNDERSTOOD BY THE THINGS THAT ARE MADE, even His eternal power and Godhead, SO THAT THEY ARE WITHOUT EXCUSE (no one will have an excuse before God), because, although they knew God, they DID NOT GLORIFY Him as God, NOR WERE THANKFUL, but BECAME FUTILE IN THEIR THOUGHTS, and THEIR FOOLISH HEARTS WERE DARKENED. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
You say, well I don't believe your Bible. Okay, then you clearly evidence and understand the problem. You are an example of what the scriptures just described. You can't blame God for that because it was YOU WHO BLEW OUT THE CANDLE OF CREATION BECAUSE YOU LOVE YOUR SIN AND WANT TO WORSHIP ANOTHER god.
Well what about my conscience. Oh, okay, God addresses that too.
Romans 2:1-16
Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things. And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who “will render to each one according to his deeds”: eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For there is no partiality with God.
For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified; for when Gentiles {everyone who is not born a Jew}, who do not have the law, BY NATURE {it is in everyone at natural birth} DO THE THINGS IN THE LAW, THESE, ALTHOUGH NOT HAVING THE LAW ARE A LAW TO THEMSELVES, WHO SHOW THE WORK OF THE LAW WRITTEN IN THEIR HEARTS, THEIR CONSCIENCE ASL BEARING THEM WITNESS, AND BETWEEN THEMSELVES THEIR THOUGHTS ACCUSING OR ELSE EXCUSING THEM) in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.
You may say again, well I don't believe your Bible nor do I believe in your God. Well, that's okay, you are free to chose what you believe however you are not free to chose the consequences of your choices. That is where your free will ends and God's sovereignty reigns supreme.
What happens to a person's conscience that keeps them for acknowledging the right God?
1 Timothy 4:1-2
1Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2speaking lies in hypocrisy, HAVING THEIR OWN CONSCIENCE SEARED WITH A HOT IRON.
They overrun their own conscience thereby becoming insensitive to all manner of sins hence blowing out the candle and begin to walk - live a lifestyle - of futility which means destructive behaviors.
Ephesians 4:17-19
This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the FUTILITY OF THEIR MIND, HAVING THEIR UNDERSTANDING (their conscience) DARKENED, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
If the creation and the conscience are God's method of producing the light of the knowledge of God and you blow them out then the only thing that remains is darkness.
Matthew 6:22-23
22“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
John 3:14-21
18“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
You may say one final time, I don't believe in your Bible nor do I believe in your God. Well all that is left for you my friend is this.
John 3:36b
...he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” Remember you wanted this.
