How can He create a world filled with evil and sin? Part 3
v.26 First the purpose: “to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness”.
1. God wanted to place on full display His righteous condemnation of the sinner.
2. God accomplished this by killing His own body, His Son Christ Jesus when Jesus took upon Himself my sin. Not that Jesus became a sinner, no friend that’s blasphemy. Jesus stepped in front of me and told the Father to punish Him instead of me then give me His righteousness and holiness. God agreed and even though Jesus was not guilty of sin, God killed Him instead of killing me. When Jesus died, I died with Him. When God raised Jesus from the dead, I was raised with Him without a spot of sin and without a blemish of sin. I was found to be inside of Jesus in the eyes of the Holy God of all creation and for the first time acceptable in His sight. and for the first time acceptable in His sight. and for the first time acceptable in His sight.
But why? Why go to such extremes?
“…that He (God) might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.” What does God mean by that?
This: Proverbs 17:15 (NKJV)
15 He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.
And this: Proverbs 24:24-25 (NKJV) 24 He who says to the wicked, “You are righteous,”
Him the people will curse; Nations will abhor him. 25 But those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, and a good blessing will come upon them.
God did exactly what He declared to be an abomination to Himself. God justified me, the wicked! God condemned Jesus, the Just! God declared me, the wicked to be righteous! God treated Jesus, the righteous as if He was wicked!
Do you see what is happening here? God is screaming at the top of His majestic voice you and I need Christ, or we are doomed!
As it is written, Job 21:30 (NKJV) 30 For the wicked are reserved for the day of doom; they shall be brought out on the day of wrath.
And again, Proverbs 16:4-5 (NKJV) 4 The LORD has made all for Himself, Yes, even the wicked for the day of doom. 5 Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished.
